On Canada Day (July 1st) we spent a few hours with our youngest son, Nathan, and his family at Andrew Haydon Park on the Ottawa River. There Anne and I had a picnic in the shade while Nathan and his family enjoyed (?) the fun at the mid-way. Nathan was enticed by his son Justin to accompany him on some of the thrill rides. Nathan, like me, finds these less than thrilling these days.
The "Ring of Fire" was a test of nerves and of the ability to keep from upchucking.
Here Nathan and Justin are at the peak of the ride as it sat at the top of the ring hanging the upside down. Nathan said he had his eyes closed throughout the ride.
The Ottawa Firefighters band was a welcome relief!
