The lack of supports for an autistic adult leads parents to leave him at a Ministry office.

While we never left our adult son with autism at a Ministry office, we did come very close to that on many occasions. Note the comments from a representative of The Families Matter Co-operative. Anne and I were founding Directors of this organisation, "for and about people with disabilities." We are inactive members now, leaving those with more energy to take up the torch. The organisation looks to be in good hands. Its continues to focus on advocacy, a role that is essential in the continual massive underfunding of services to people with autism.
