 Point Lobos National Reserve Park on the coast of California, near Carmel, is a beautiful place to explore.

 On the day we were there the waves crashed spectacularly against the rocky outcrops.

 The rocks were extra-ordinary in close-up views.

 Fossil traces of ferns from millions of years ago were exposed to view.
