A second free-standing hot air balloon

This is my second model hot air balloon. This one stands two feet tall rather than three feet tall in the first model.

I wove the "balloon" section first. I am quite pleased with the shape I was able to form. It looks like it is supposed to.

I doubled up on four of the stakes in the "balloon" and left one of each of those doubled stakes to extend down to become integrated into the basket. For the "basket" I attached those four stakes to the plywood base, added more stakes and then wove that portion of the model.

As a last step, I added a reinforcing second stake to the four stakes that connect the two parts of the model.

For stability, I placed a large pebble in the basket. The choir-boy angel is an attractive finishing touch.
