Shepherd's Pie

For Today's lunch I had the excuse of a new casserole dish as the incentive to try a new to me dish: Shepherd's Pie. The dish was made by a friend, Sandra Copeland, and was guaranteed to be oven proof.
Started by browning the ground lamb, and then added carrots, onions and garlic. As usual, I used a recioe from my Heart and Stroke Foundation cookbook.
Once this mixture was ready, I added it to the casserole dish.
On top of that mixture I put the mashed potatoes, and added sprinkles of paprika for flavour.

After baking in the oven, the final dish was both appealing to the eye and was very tasty too. And the casserole dish performed as promised.
