Market baskets: spot the differences.

Here are three of the latest examples of Market Baskets I made. The two with Evening Blue highlights have "D" handles. The wine red highlighted one has a swing handle. I should make more of those and less of the "D" handles since the swing handle folds flat. This saves space when I parcel it, thus saving postage costs.

I have listed two of these Market Baskets on my Etsy site. I will leave it to you to visit the site to see which is not yet listed. But hurry. As soon as I get a chance I will list the third one.

Tomorrow, when my second basket-making student arrives, we will make another Market Basket with another style of handle. I will leave it to you to check out my shop over the next few days to establish what is different about that type of handle.

  1. You know, I've actually gotten away from even weaving baskets with handles just due to the storage fact. Handles take up much more room no matter how you use the baskets and I have plenty of baskets already with handles. I guess it might be a toss up, extra cost with the swing handle vs. extra shipping cost.

  2. I like the idea of the swing handle and it sounds like it will really save you trouble and money. Its great to have a way to save space with a storage container.
