Our first full day in Scotsdale, Arizona

The Westin Kierland Resort is an oasis in a desert landscape. Palms, fountains, a luxuriant green golf course are part of the facilities, while the desert mountains can be seen in the background.

Wild-life abounds, including Bugs Bunny`s cousin, Jack.

The villas we stay at abut the golf course. To start the day, I ran a 20 minute run, the first one outside for months.

After lunch, we drive to Pinnacle Peak shown here to try out a 1.75 mile-long trail classed as `mòderate`in difficulty. We thought it would not be too difficult. Its just the distance fromhome to the mall. We walk to and from mall regularly.

The trail was steep, narrow, and filled with breath-taking views, where we paused often to take breaths.

We reached the high point. By the mile out point we decided to turn round. Joggers still continued to race past us. Oh to have such energy!

Another rest was called for so other people could take our photo.
The local temperature was around 60F. We cannot imagine walking or jogging this trail at 100F or more.

  1. Arizona is probably one of most favorite places on earth, and I've been all over the world! Enjoy yourself!
