Ravine Park: a favourite walk.

Ravine Park is part of one of our favourite walks in our neighbourhood. The "Ravine" is where the "Mighty Carp River" is just beginning. As with any urban park, the trails are either paved or graveled and fitted with pedestrian bridges. This particular section is very attractive in its sylvan setting.

Wild flowers abound.

The huge culvert here beneath Castlefrank Road was rebuilt following one of the Glen Cairn floods to remove a bottle-neck that caused some of that year's flooding. Click on the photo and look closely to see the flood levels reached following yesterday's heavy rainfall. This year the "Mighty Carp" did stay within its banks, at least for now.
