Canada Blooms, Toronto, 2011

On Friday, March 18th we travelled by Greyhound Coach from Ottawa to Toronto to visit Canada Blooms, the garden show there. We purchased a two day pass. Saturday we walked the three kilometers to the exhibition to find a long line-up. The show was huge. We spent about three hours there both on Friday and Saturday.
I was so engrossed by the sights and smells and sounds of the exhibition, I forgot to take many photographs. I did do a lot of chatting with exhibitors about their booths as I checked out their sizes, how they were arranged, their lighting displays, and what they did about floor covering. This display, with its carpet, is the only example I have!
The beautiful displays of massed flowers make spring so much closer. On our return to Ottawa, it was great to see so much of the snow has melted. The snow banks at the end of the driveway are dirty plies of ice and gravel now.

In among the handouts from the exhibitors we received details about plant sales at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington, and about more botanical gardens in Toronto. More trips by car, bus or train are to come in the spring and summer!
