Solar Energy: One year later

On September 2nd, 2011, our 21 solar energy panels were connected to the grid and began production. The company that installed them, Isolara, predicted that the energy production for the year would be
5 189 kWh. The actual production for the year was 5 871 kWh, a total some 13% higher than predicted. The long drought contributed to this excess, no dought. The gross revenue from this output was a few dollars over $4700. We expect to pay for the installation's capital costs in seven years or less and to earn a handsome profit over the 20 years of the contract we have to sell the electricity to Hydro Ottawa.
