Its time to change our pink decor to a more reflective basic white. Its a long process that involves moving furniture, taking down pictures, filling in holes for picture sites no longer in use. Today we washed the walls and gave the baseboards two coats of paint. Tomorrow we will start on the repainting, probably in the afternoon since we have a variety of things to do in the morning.
The dark pink has to go. It was enjoyable and acceptable for a few years, but we are tired of it now. You can see me and my painting clothes in the mirror at the end of the hallway. They are not quite"Sunday, go to meeting" clothes.

First steps in repainting the living room and adjacent areas
The first area that was repainted is the landing area at the top of the stairs. The pink (rose, salmon) that was there before is now replaced.
The closet doors in the hallway to the bedroom and office have been removed. Some of the pink that is now outdated can still be seen in the opening to the kitchen.
The closet doors, now in the basement, have received their first coat of paint on one side. By the time we paint the other side and add a second coat it will have become a two-day job. Progress is slow, but steady. We do have lots of time!
This colour of paint is the last we have. The decision is still imminent on the paint colour for the remainder of the living room and halls.
