The Ottawa Valley Weavers and Spinners Guild Exhibition and Sale, 2010

Friday was the first day of the Ottawa Valley Weavers and Spinners Guild's Exhibition and Sale. In accordance with tradition, the first prize in the raffle is a coverlet woven by Guild members on the 100" loom.

The second prize is $500.00 of products made by Guild members collected together in one of my market baskets.

The Exhibition and Sale is a means of providing members with the opportunity to sell their hand-made products as well as introducing the public to the methods by which the hand-made products are made. Demonstrations of weaving, for example, are held throughout the period the Exhibition is open.

Similarly, spinning demonstrations are taking place. These encourage new members to join the Guild.

A quartet also entertained the guests as they viewed the demonstrations and eyed the goods that are for sale.

My basketry products were prominent.
